History

1956

The “R.F. Carlson Company” begins operations as a Distributor providing O-Ring rivet seals for the fuel tank / fuselage on the new F-4 Phantom Fighter Jet program at McDonnell Aircraft.

1958
The R.F. Carlson Company enters the Manufacturer’s Representatives business, representing Thermatics Wire & Cable, Elm City, NC, a manufacturer of high temperature wire and cable utilized on the F-4 Phantom Fighter Jet.
1960
The company adds its second Principal, Nelson Nameplate, Los Angeles, CA. Today, as part of the Nelson Miller Group, our alignment continues, representing one of the longest standing Principal & Manufacturer’s Representative relationships in our industry.
1984
After joining the company as a sales representative in 1970, John Rothkopf purchases the St. Louis assets of the R. F. Carlson Company and forms:

  • Rothkopf & Associates, Inc.
  • Manufacturer’s Representatives of electro-mechanical and electronic components
  • Distributors of o-rings, seals and rubber components
2003
Rothkopf Manufacturer’s Rep business unit partners with Jaacks Sales, forming Rothkopf, Covilli & Jaacks, Manufacturer’s Representatives
2007
Michael Rothkopf acquires Rothkopf & Associates, Inc.
2024
Rothkopf exits RCJ REPS, and returns to Rothkopf & Associates as ROTHKOPF-Reps
